C&L Refrigeration was using a third-party HR web site to collect and process data for hiring new employees. Once the list of applicants was shortlisted to just those to be offered employment, a method of transferring this information from the web site to S2Web's database was required. With nothing available from the third party, C&L engaged Spence Software to create a ‘bridge’ to integrate the two applications.
Using JSON technology, a custom query application for S2Web was written to poll the third party web site in a secure manner and determine if any new hires should be transferred to the S2Web database. Working in entirely in the background, the names of new hires appear automatically in the S2Web application the day after they are approved on the third party system. Additionally, notification emails are triggered to appraise managers of any updates.
